There it is again: 20-20 Hindsight. They have the same pundit who listed 10 reasons why Obama would lose like a whipped hound; and now he can list all the nonsense. We lost this election for ONE reason, Hawkins: The GOP fielded a sorry candidate; and eliminated from the running EXCELLENT leaders; Gingrich, Cain, Santorum and Perry. Who is to blame for our sad failure? The Republican establishment and self-satisfied wonks in Washington DC.

Agreed. The GOP establishment is not conservative and isn't too fond of conservatives.

you must be joking !! gingrich, cain, santorum and perry are also big government politicians. the only true conservative running was ron paul. the GOP has drifted so far to the left, that repubilcans have long forgotten what it means to be conservative. all this unconstitutional intrusive big government garbage promoted by today's republicans is NOT conservative

It's falling on deaf ears a-n.

They don't care if it's big government, as long as it's their big government.

Cognitive dissonance is painful to watch.

So is Mitt Romney, he's unelectable.

Ron Paul would have been crushed far worse than Romney. You guys had better figure out that extremism isn't marketable pretty fast or you WILL be doomed.

It's time for you squishes that call anybody who stands for something "extremists" to melt away like the useless sludge that you are.

If one of them had confronted Obama; there wouldn't have been 3 million Republicans who stayed home on election day. THREE million, who saw Romney on the ballot and figured "NOT me! He's one of them Mormon satanic cult critters!"

The same dumb thumpers who think they can save our country by Bible thumping didn't vote; where every African American and every single woman voted; for Obama!

Had you run any of those four you would have lost by an even greater margin. Rick Perry was clearly a dolt, Gingrich woul dahve been destroyed by his infidelity, Santorum was a laughing stock who lost his last election by 18%, and Cain was a caricature. DO you think that running teh guy who wanted to electrocute hispanics wold have gotten you some hispanic votes?

Let's not sugarcoat it: we got our teeth kicked in on Tuesday. Sure, we added governorships and held our ground in the House, but we went backwards in the Senate and lost to an out-of-touch, incompetent, petty man who centered his campaign around Mitt Romney's bank account and Big Bird. We didn't get beaten by Bill Clinton in a great economy; we got beaten by another Michael Dukakis in the midst of a terrible economy. On the upside, if people have ever wondered what Jimmy Carter's second term would have looked like, then they're about to find out.

Since...
