Mensa Aura, go do a search for how much Reagan proposed for each year's budget and how much Congress actually pushed through. I know this is difficult for you.
Aura Wrote: Oct 02, 2012 9:20 PM
blah, blah, blah. Reagen trippled the debt and you guys were ok with that. George W. Bush almost doubled the national debt and kept two wars and Medicare Part B out of the budget, unfunding them. And I'm supposed to believe Obama is worse??

You hate Obama, and then work backwards to try to come up with convincing reasons why. What a joke.

And yet Bush messed up big time!

Why would it take me two hours if you're making the list???

Mensa Aura, I'll start with $5 trillion reasons...the debt he's run up in half the time. Then every failed Stimulus, unending unemployment with no requirement to search for a job, negligence in letting an Ambassador get killed, complicity in federal agents get killed, Solyndra and every other tax-payer stolen "green job" that didn't pay off. Giving unions preference over secured creditors in auto bailouts, pandering to everyone rather than having real solutions.

"In what ways is President Obama worse than President Bush???"

Too many to list here. Bush had executive and business experience going into the job, while Obama had none. Bush had 4.6% unemployment, while Obama had over 10%, and over 8% for over 40 months.

In every way freaking imaginable. Did you live through the Carter years?

If you have a couple hours I can make a list for you, Aura.

That was not a 'blame Bush' comment. Instead, it is a 'perspective' comment. The right wing - especially David Koch-funded rags like Townhall - do nothing but blame President Obama and the Democrats and take NO responsibility for their complicity in failures of national security and our recession. Most economists and historians argue that the Republicans and Conservatives have created our economic catastrophe by its meaningless 'deregulate' and 'cut taxes' nonsense. Not only did they fail over the past 20 years but the current empty suit for President - Romney - is advocating the same thing (and yet, he won't mention Bush's name even though he is basically the same guy). Pathetic.

In what ways is President Obama worse than President Bush???

According to the U.S. Treasury, U.S. spending on foreign aid has not only skyrocketed, it also trumps the amount spent on U.S. border security. CNS News has the details:

From fiscal 2008 to fiscal 2011, according to the U.S. Treasury, the federal government increased spending on foreign aid by 80 percent and, in fiscal 2011, spent 76 percent more on foreign aid than it did securing the borders of the United States.

In fiscal 2008, the government spent a total of $11.427 billion in international assistance programs, according to the Monthly Treasury Statement. In fiscal...
