You are soooo right on this one. The only way the poor can mediate inflation is to buy everything on debt. That way the price is locked in, and as the dollar inflates, hopefully their wages will too, making it easier to pay off the debt. The problem is the poor and other wage earners are ALWAYS the last people to see their income rise because inflation ALWAYS benefits those at the head of the line: the government and the banks.

With all the talk about taxing the rich, we hear very little talk about taxing the poor. Yet the marginal tax rate on someone living in poverty can sometimes be higher than the marginal tax rate on millionaires.

While it is true that nearly half the households in the country pay no income tax at all, the apparently simple word "tax" has many complications that can be a challenge for even professional economists to untangle.
