Ken Catalino, editorial comic, said it well today, "Equal parts isolation and bullying, derelict parenting, graphic violence in the entertainment media, easy access to guns." He only missed the contributions of graphic violence in the news media, and our abysmal mental health system (which Obamacare doesn't do anything to fix). Only 1/6th of the equation involves gun access. And the Sandy Hook killer didn't obtain his legally anyway. he stole them from his mother, right before he killed her.

After staying silent for four days, the National Rifle Association has issued a statement about the horrific shooting last week in Newtown, Connecticut.

The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.

Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.
