I am 70 years old and my generation grew up with guns. My pedal car was a tank. by 4 I had cap guns, by 6 I had a BB gun. I got my first real gun (a .22) at 11. In high school I had both a rifle and a shotgun in the back window of my pickup in the school parking lot. My favorite movies were war films and I went in the military at 17 According to the liberal idiots out there I should be a deranged mass murderer. (Continued)

I am 81 and have a similar background. Since around 10 years of age, I have owned no less that three guns at any given time.

Isn’t it interesting that Ted Kennedy’s car killed more people than my guns? Where is the logic in restricting my gun rights while no one wanted to restrict Teddy’s right to drive or even propose that his actions were a crime?


Difficulty in getting change in our country is an ongoing source of frustration. Particularly when we have huge problems facing us as we do today.

But the founders knew what they were doing setting up the checks and balances of our constitutional republic. The delicate arrangement we call freedom should never submit with ease to a charismatic demagogue or to an emotion filled crisis.

The current push for gun control is case and point. It is at a time like this that we should be grateful that changing our laws is hard to do.
