Teachers in my district are evaluated every year. Stop putting ALL in the group of "some". Who will be persecuted next? A dentist who has patients who end up with cavities? A doctor who has a patient die? A clerical worker with a typo? A salesperson who has a shoplifter during his shift?
idiots-utter nonsense

Moralizing Against McDonald's

That is not the point. The government is becoming too controlling "for our own good". Children refuse to obey all kinds of rules-they can refuse to eat at McDonald's if they are taken there. It is not the government's business.
I am not saying that one should not consider sources when discussing education (I am able to research valuable sources/data as well)-I believe the logic that the sources are based on to be warped (in many but not all cases). Most of the literature looks at data alone and makes a determination that teachers and the school system are bad. They do not look at the contributing factors to poor test scores and the decline of many school districts. Numbers/percentages do not tell a story. They lack the human side of what is going on in America's homes and schools. I do not believe the problem to be all teachers or all families. There is bad and good in them both. I must say it shocked me that you are a teacher. Your depiction of your...
You misunderstand. That was NOT a compliment. Book smarts without real life experience is meaningless. Anyone can quote sources etc. Your school must be lovely considering your lack of understanding and knowledge of the entitlement age of society.
The idea of the cost for all that different educational choice is true. Parents who want to take their kids out of public education must have the money to do so because it is not free. Public education is free. The teachers in public education have to teach children who move around up to 3 or 4 times a year, do not get fed, or have parents who even check in on them. The teachers in public school have become surrogate parents for a wealth of needs for the children that does not even include academics. The down fall of the family is what the problem is. Teachers are everything to these public school kids. Too bad the government does not require things from parents. Enter a public school and spend a bit of time. You would be...
I would like you all to state the school system you work in and how you came to your conclusions based on your job in the teaching profession. Otherwise-you have no basis for your "facts"except for the source you have decided to believe.
You have got to be kidding me!!?? Do you even know what you are talking about? You actually make me so ticked off that I cannot continue this post or be deleted.
Where were their parents to make sure they took education seriously!?? Teachers cannot MAKE kids learn.
It is pouring....You have been schooled by a teacher.
