Wow , its always the same. The left wanting to take away guns and some here unable to see its a waste of effort to argue. Heres some SANE response to this tragedy. I spent 18 nmonths in the jungles of Viet Nam in a combat unit in firefight nearly daily, and I not only know how to use these weapons BUT I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MEANT TO DO as well. I would NEVER purchase one, I have no use for one. I have deer hunted using a 30 06 and even a 270, but would never think of using a 223 bushmaster, why ruin the meat. That said you need to simply ask your self HONESTLY why would a 54 year old woman from a safe community purchase two semi auto 9mm hand guns, a 223 bushmaster and there were even more guns still in her home. These are weapons of defense,

not weapons for sport nor hunting of anything but men, Why are they sold is not the question nor is if they should be, the question is WHO WOULD EVEN BUY THEM , what sane person woulod buy all these arms . I have to wonder if this Mother knew how dangerous this person was and had these fro defense , which didnt work but instead became her end and the end of 20 children caught up in the insanity. I am sad to hear all the furor and talk of gun control, what honest and intellegent person cant understand that the weapon isnt any thing but a tool used to commit this murder, as are knives and poison or bombs or even planes, its the people who buy them or steal them who are the problem. I believe the cop I listened to who said its time to stop

gun free zones at schools so teachers dont have to die trying to rush a murderer , they could just shoot the idiot instead woud and could have change the entire scene. All the LAWS these idiots dream of to end violence NEVER SEEM TO WORK and only leave more people unable to defend themselves.Where has any of them worked. this Government with an entire military couldnt even save four americans in our embassy, how do you ever think they would ever protect your children at school. The more law abiding people are limited in gun ownership the more violent the crimes become. When only bad guys have the guns every one WILL BE VICTUMS. thats insanity.

First, it's called the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.

Second, semi- or full-auto clip-fed weapons are the most protected of firearms.

The Second Amendment is about being armed so you can join a militia. Not joining a militia so you can have arms, by the way.

You said you were in the military. What would you rather have: a flintlock or a select-fire modern battle rifle?

all we should be doing is trying to help the families and children from that community, and finally realize we have the right and the DUTY to self protection and to the protecting of all our families and friends . I would have shot that person in and instant and slept like a baby. But I cant even understand how someone could shoot 6 and 7 year old children I could never understand that kind of monster

As the mother of five-year-old twins in a small town not too far from New York city, yesterday's events in Newtown hit close to home -- literally and figuratively.  It's hard to imagine the depths of shock, sorrow and anguish rippling throughout our community in the wake of yesterday's hideous crime.

It is a terrible, terrible thing to be reminded, once again, of how powerful, how senseless and how ugly the face of evil can seem.  It is terrible even to have to acknowledge that such evil exists in the world.  But it does, and there's no use in...
