Greg, the fact that you trot this little factoid out is as hilarious as it is meaningless: "President Obama was elected with more votes than any other President in American history." So... are we to therefore assume he is a more popular and "legitimate" president than, say, Lincoln or FDR or Nixon because he "received more votes..." than they did? Or might that have just a tad to do with the larger number of voters because of a much larger population? The very fact that you throw that out there as some kind of basis to attack conservatives is truly imbecilic. I gues the bright side is you can read (Democratic talking points, that is).

Do you "take responsibility for the extremists among you?" The race-baiters, the class-warfare appeals, the selective use of extremist vitriol amongst your ilk? I bet you don't.

Social Pressure to Marry Is Dead

Ms Charen says: "67.4 percent of illegitimate births were to women with less than a high school diploma in 2006, and 51.4 percent were to women with only a high school degree." So let me get this straight: 67% of illegitimate births are to women with LESS than a H.S. degree, and 51% of such births are to women with ONLY a H.S. degree. Ummm, that adds up to %118+. What gives? I think Ms Charen's math is off. That being said, I read the same advice column she's referring to, and had the same reaction - I was amazed that there wasn't even a suggestion of marriage, or even a suggestion that maybe they should consider it. We have indeed "come a long way, baby," haven't we?
And until fairly recently (the 70's) it was listed as a mental illness in the DSM- (III, I think), which is the diagnostic manual of psychology/psychiatry. Then they voted to change it and "de-list" it. Instead they made opposition to homosexuality a mental illness. See how it works? What an absolute joke.
What a stupid, grade-school-level argument. Go back and read your Harry Potter books.
I read a paper once that was called "In Defense of Homophobia." (I'm sure you can Google it.) It made the very sound point that it is quite natural, and in fact evolutionarily sensible, for men in particular to be instinctively repulsed and disgusted by (particularly) male homosexual behavior....that is, "the act" whose detailed description I will omit here but all know what it is. In fact, this natural repulsion is quite true and is nothing to be ashamed of. "Homophobia" (especially by men) is perfectly natural and simply means being repulsed by homosexual behavior.

Katie O'Malley, first lady of Maryland and judge, really "stepped in it" recently when she let her guard down and stated what she really feels and thinks: She told a group that those legislators who voted against gay marriage in Maryland last year (and defeated it) were "cowards." Needless to say, it takes more courage in today's society to speak up for traditional marriage than it does to support gay marriage as the pendulum has swung. She's the one who's "going with the flow." No doubt at her husband's urging, she's now backing down, apologized, and says that her "emotions got the best of her" LOL! I think she should own up to her own words, and defend them -because it revealed her true contempt for tradition and those who support it.

Obama is a smooth talker, that is all. He had zero preparation for the presidency but he talks a good game as long as there's a teleprompter nearby. He is a community organizer, Chicago-style, political hack. A showboat president. Unfortunately, more than half of the country falls for it. (He will win in 2012, I predict.)

Hey Bozo, when was the last budget that Obama submitted? The Democrats? The fact is, you and I both know that the Dems would ramp up govt spending even more if they were permitted to, with no end in sight. The GOP/neo-con variety stunk, no doubt, and blew a hole in the budget that I'm still p.o.'d about, but Obama and the Dems are worse - and that is not easy.
