Ron Paul would have handily beaten 0bama. He would have taken the antiwar left voters away from 0bama, resulting in fewer votes for the D side, and more for the R side. And the antiwar left is substantial in numbers. Also, the "Ron Paul or nobody" crowd did not vote. If Ron Paul were the nominee, they would have voted for him. The MSM and the Republican party collaborated in a smear campaign against him, using vicious falsehoods (anti-Semite, isolationist, etc.) and every dirty trick in the book to make sure he wouldn't be the nominee. The MSM got what they wanted, and the RP reaped that which it has sown.
