The MoH was established in the Civil War long after the Purple Heart and neither had anything to do with the other.
The Purple Heart was originally awarded for 'merit.' Now it is for wounds.
The MoH has always been for merit, but standards have increased to make it the highest US military award for combat valor.
Get your facts straight.

The article says "deep behind enemy lines".
In April of 1945, "deep behind enemy lines" means Germany.
So just because you want to divine they were in Poland so as to make sarcastic remarks.
Fact of the matter is Mrs Cosby has talked about her father before.
They were rescued in Germany.
They were not in Poland.
They were Poles IN GERMANY.
