Sorry, self diagnosis is unacceptable here. And you misspelled nefarious. You also speak too broadly about motives of progressives. Are you saying they don't have them, or they only have good intentions? If the latter, how are they different than, say, Mao, who also claimed to have good intentions? Are we to judge these central planners, who believe they know more and better how to live our lives than we do, and that liberties are wasted on us, based on their actions or their claimed intentions? By now, we’ve heard the argument about semi-automatic "assault" rifles: nobody needs one. We’ve heard the only reason why someone would obtain this kind of weapon is so they can kill people, which is far from the truth.
