Freedom never takes a holiday

As we were driving home from SC, my husband and I were tired, and complaining about taxes, the sad state of affairs, and all the other things that most of us feel are wrong. Then, we talked about our freedom, as Americans. I sat and realized that during the 1,000 miles we had traveled, we were never stopped and asked for papers, never told we had to have travel papers, and never had our travel restricted, or told we had to submit a travel plan.
Way behind us, I spotted a hearse approaching, off in the distance, followed closely by a small silver SUV. Over the mountains of PA we went, into the green hills of NJ. Finally, the hearse passed us, with a flag draped coffin in the back, the ever present silver SUV close...
