I understand Gov. Haley ruled out herself, mainly on family commitment grounds as she has 2 school-age boys. Scott's probably the best of several potential good choices. "Diversity" doesn't count for Republicans anyway; female & minority GOP'ers are considered traitors to their grievance group identity for not toeing the Demmie socialist line.

Karen of all people is probably acutely aware of the continual snarky abuse Haley takes daily from various Demmies & leftists, & from the McClatchy-owned Columbia daily paper, _The State_. Don't forget her election campaign was smeared by unsubstantiated allegations of an affair, & they're daily looking for something-anything to take her down.
