I seldom hear any real proposals exc some variation on energy rationing + hypertaxation (cap & trade), exporting heavy industry to China so they can have the jobs & make the bux while creating the CO2 on that side f the world with their ~1000 new coal-fired power plants, & of course shovelling $$$ to well-connected cronies who stuff it all in their pockets as the "green" ventures fail. If they believed in it back in 1990, we'd have started Manhattan projects to bring fusion & satellite solar online by now instead of all this corrupt statist piddling.
All that money. All that effort. All the sermonizing and bloodcurdling imagery and still, Americans don't seem to be evolving quickly enough on the environment.

A new poll by Pew Research Center, for instance, finds that a wide majority of Americans support building the Keystone XL pipeline, which would transport Canadian oil to refineries in Texas. Sixty-six percent of Americans favor finishing the pipeline, with only 23 percent in opposition. Strong support cuts through every political distinction -- other than "liberal" Democrats.
