Rampage Shootings: It's the Moral Decay of Society, not Guns

Donjindra Wrote: Dec 15, 2012 12:10 PM
This article is typical of why "conservatives" are more repugnant than the left. Both sides are simplistic but Alexander's nonsense is despicable. A lunatic murders 20 kids and she argues the following: If we had only sent him to church, kept him away from video games and TV, he would have been cured, hallelujah! He carried guns and she blames the left. If anything is representative of moral decay in America, it's not armed lunatics (who will always be with us), it's self-serving political cynics like Alexander who should know better.

if you bring up a kid right, they don't commit mass murders.
you teach them right from wrong, morality, and responsibility. you keep them grounded in REALITY.
Since "progressives" are not grounded in reality, they have a much harder time bringing up decent citizens.

No, Donnie-Pooh, she doesn't argue whatb you say she does. Learn to read.

If you had read the article carefully, you would realize that she was blaming the fact that we no longer keep mentally ill people institutionalized, but rather attempt to mainline them. She could also have mentioned the tragic deaths of some mentally ill people killed by police who were called for help in controlling them.

If anything represents moral decay in America, it's the criminal coddling bleeding heart types who excuse any expression of evil. Because those with the answers are dead, we will likwly never know from where the murderous intent of a twisted mind and evil heart came, but in a culture which celebrates moral relativism and would rather look to excuse mass killings makes such incidents more probable than one which promotes personal responsibility.

Moon, I've known a lot of liberals in my 6+ decades, and I've never met one who's for "coddling criminals" or excuses mass (or any other kind of) killing.

"but in a culture which celebrates moral relativism and would rather look to excuse mass killings makes such incidents more probable than one which promotes personal responsibility. "

1) Who is excusing mass murder here? I would say it's Alexander who thinks such killers are mere products of the culture.

2) "Thou shall not murder" is relativistic. That should be clear to you if you know your Bible. Moses murdered 3000 as soon as he descended the mountain.

Dummy, they don't come out and SAY their for coddling criminals, but the policies and practices they advocate and vote for lead to that, and enable it.
they're the source of the "revolving door of justice",lax sentencing, plea bargaining,Political Correctness, and death penalty non-application.

You write total BS Donjindra, typical of left wing idiots. Alexnder's article is one of the best and most accurate on this subject.
Donjindra Wrote: Dec 15, 2012 12:43 PM
Alexander's article is inane. It's funny, for example, how "conservatives" scoff at the NY Times until some leftist psychologist or sociologist tickles their ears. It used to be the left who wanted to blame "violent" cartoons for real violence, now it's the right. This new "conservative" movement is becoming more left than right.

Jim-P Wrote: Dec 15, 2012 12:53 PM
Do you have an example of when the Left blamed violent cartoons for real violence? I don't get it. Hollywood Left is creating more filth everyday. And I have to disagree, I can't think of one Rightie doing these movies.
Jay Wye Wrote: Dec 15, 2012 2:44 PM
Nobody is blaming CARTOONS,nor the Three Stooges slapstick comedy..

it's the violent,extremely graphic movies,TV shows,and video games.
Naturally,YOU "progressives" can't discern the difference.

You and other leftist like yourself have yet to show there's a difference.

She doesn't state that sending this particular looney to church would have prevented the massacre, but you have to admit that films and video games tend to be violent, and you tards just love to attack religion or anything traditional. You libs think all problems can be solved if you throw money at it, or slap on a layer of useless regulation.

"She doesn't state that sending this particular looney to church would have prevented the massacre, "

She blames the culture, pure and simple.

"you tards just love to attack religion or anything traditional. "

Nonsense. I'm a pretty traditional guy. And your typical religious "conservative" these days deserves to be attacked because, like Alexander, she is on the attack.

"You libs think all problems can be solved if you throw money at it, or slap on a layer of useless regulation."

I guess I'm no "lib" then.

Houziwang Wrote: Dec 15, 2012 12:57 PM
You are not a traditional guy. You are intolerant like the rest of the left.

No, you'rte a "tard" plain and simple.

It should come as no surprise that the rate of mass shootings at schools and in other public places is increasing. The surge has nothing to do with guns, which have been widely available in the U.S. for years. Gun control laws have been increasing. Instead, there is a direct correlation between the increase in violence and the gradual degradation of morals, ethics and parenting. We are cultivating mental illness in our society.

Parents are allowing television and video games to increasingly babysit their children, even though both have become full of gratuitous violence. A New...
