"98% of abortions are done purely for convenience sake." You know this personally? Sure you do. Here is annfan playing God.

"It puts the life of that baby below all this property."

How so?

" Something does not need to be banned to be spectacularly stupid."

No it does not. Freedom does permit us to be stupid at times. But if something is stupid, I think it should make your job easier. You should be able to convince the rest of us it is stupid. If you cannot do that, you should question your original assumption.

Why do you assume you have worked a refutation at all?

Something need not be banned to be criticism worthy.

More from Guttmacher:

"In contrast to the perception (voiced by politicians and laypeople across the ideological spectrum) that women who choose abortion for reasons other than rape, incest and life endangerment do so for “convenience,” our data suggest that after carefully assessing their individual situations, women base their decisions largely on their ability to maintain economic stability and to care for the children they already have."

Why don't you people check up on your sources? It took me less than 30 minutes to debunk the Guttmacher assertion made above.

This 'convenience' argument is said as if it's weighty. But what does it mean? It means you consider it mere convenience when a woman exercises control over her own body. That means liberty itself is seen as convenience. It means our property rights are convenience. It means owning that big screen TV is mere convenience. Should government tax you less so you can spend more money on your 'convenient' lifestyle? Only a selfish 'liberal' adolescent would think so.

Ironically, this 'convenience' argument throws the baby out with the bath water. It shows the gradual degeneration of 'conservative' ideology. It destroys real conservatism. It's against the American spirit and dismissive of the individual. It's laughable.

Ever heard of the Allen Guttmacher institute? They collect this data, and they've said the same thing.

And before you dismiss them as "the radical Christian right", the Allen Gutmacher Institute is funded by Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood now says it's "appalled" by the Philadelphia house of horrors run by accused serial baby-killer and pregnant-mom murderer Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Bull.

The appalling inaction of the nation's largest abortion provider, along with countless other clinics and "pro-choice" groups in the know, speaks far louder than their belatedly self-serving words.

The criminal trial of Gosnell is entering week six. The death doctor faces seven counts of first-degree murder for severing the spinal cords of babies born alive during abortions. That's in addition to one count of third-degree murder in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, a 41-year-old Bhutanese refugee who died of...
