What many of the comment fail to address is the reason for the new gun laws that will soon be in affect. The Laws will be MUCH too expensive to imprison every so called offender. The Loony Left is not that Loony but are VERY CUNNING. The final punishment will be Staggering FINES, so that they have more money to squander.

there won't BE any new gun laws. Most of them already "on teh books" should be repealed. The tide is turning.. too many are now aware that the idea of "no guns" except in the hands of the Only ONes does not work. With one exception, EVERY mass shooting from Columbine onward took place in a gun free zone.... and it is now quite obvious this tactic is an epic failure. Bad guys can, and will get their guns.... or baseball bats. Outlawing and restricting them only means Good Guys will obey the insane laws and not have them when the Bad Guys do. The results of that moral value were buried in Connecticut last week. And in Aurora, Colorado, Virginia, Littleton, Colorado, and.....

imagine what if that first teacher Lanza came upon had been armed there would be one new grave in that town.. the same one we now have, occupied by Adam Lanza's corpse. None of the others would be there, as their current occupants would yet be alive. Gun Free Zones are misnamed.. they should be renamed "resistance free" zones.Criminals will find no resistance in those places......

The best gun control i've seen is a half-inch group at 100-yards.

but if you dont pay the fine then they'll have to jail you. Otherwise it will become widely known that the fines are empty threats.

The best gun law I have seen in in the Bill of Rights.

It happens probably nightly. A citizen fights off a criminal in order to protect his property. But it doesn't always make the nightly news. In this case it did.

How much easier and safer would have been this takedown of a punk in New York City if the clerk had been equipped with a hand gun rather than just a vodka bottle?  How much less of a burden to the taxpayer too, who will now have to incarcerate the criminal?

And just think of chilling effect it would have on criminals if shootings of miscreants during crimes like this were on the nightly...
