A. Nothing "extralegal" ocurred - BP has stated many times they would bear the cost of cleanup. The meeting was not arm twisting, merely organizing how the monies would be handled, claims submitted etc.

Murchison is nothing but provincial in protecting a fellow Texan.

No one is excusing BP Frank. BP lied to government as early as their initial proposal to drill in which they stated they were equipped to control a breech 100 times worse than the one we are dealing with today. Yes, it was approved by an MMS official in another administration, however, that is irrevalent as it could have been under any administration. Further, BP has continually lied to government throughout the process for which they should be dammed in hell...
Medved fails to establish his theory even if he cites the NYT of things. The only common denominator is Louisiana. I find it hard to accept there is a media bias given the little Medved gives us to work with, we bring a lot of our views to the column that seems to fill in the gaps.

Further, the WH Correspondents Dinner is a time for coming together and having a laugh by misdirection of exaggeration. Taking it as a serious remark of any kind is a corruption of purpose. When the media did it to #43 does not mean it should be done by others later, the cycle should be broken. Further, she fails to mention the two wars we are paying for and moves right to other costs causing deficits. This is quite common, the cost of war must be included in any conversation about deficits.

I support a flat tax that will, by design, provide a fair tax for everyone. The working percentage has increased significantly over recent years, however, it remains viable in its fairness. It will also make countries and individuals holding our debt(s) know we are serious about meeting our...

Your column today is filled with so much hate, disrespect and error it is hard to read if one has an IQ above a cumquat. Since I know you do, it puzzles me as to why you chose to add it to the excellent columns you have written in the past.

I will not dissect it as it would be boring and take much to much time. You are clearly the Lupus of columnists today - were you scared to have a potential bomb so close?

Let's give some credit where credit is due once in a while.
