Carrying That Weight

I'm a progressive, and cheer your enthusiasm for Gingrich. If nominated, he will be the albatross around the neck of the GOP and assure an Obama victory at the polls. He may be a go-getter, 'a man of substance', but he's repulsive to most at an instictive level because of his apparent lack of integrity, humility, and moral values. I hope he wins the GOP nomination.
I watched the debates, and I didn't hear anyone 'shussh' the people who booed the soldier. The author suggests that all of the candidates did hear them explicitly however, and we're to presume this is why none of them condemned (no need to 'attack') them. Regardless of whether the candidates were being, ahem.. polite, they should have verbally scolded the person who booed, yet as Obama noted, they didn't - and shamefully so. The author can't admit this, and likely neither can many here. Sorry Limbaugh, you can't fool everyone on Main Street with that weak dodge.
I say to the GOP - keep up the 'no new taxes' screech. The middle class and independents are getting your number... In this economy, they'll not succeed in sticking up for the wealthy. Reasonable folks on both sides of the eisle know that.
are you people serious? seriously, you are truly round the bend. PP doesn't provide abortions. It doesn't fund abortions. It provide birth control and screening for cancer. Birth control helps to prevent the need for abortion - thats a gooooood thing. Screening for cancer - goooooood. Fire - bad!
Tyler proves that crazy doesn't rest
I don't get this. The GOP which opposes abortion, would stop funding PP, which provides birth control, which prevents the need for more abortions... because....uh... they want to stop abortions.. The right has gone completely off its nut, and the moderates in this country see it for what it is.
Personally, I think one would have to be an idiot to not see the association between violent rhetoric; the kind the pervades the news (especially from the right) and violence in the streets. Can you draw a straight line between Loehner and this? No. But isn't the popular notion of 'common sense' the ability to connect the dots even when there isn't such a clearly marked line of connection? I think so. Would it not follow that violent action follows violent rhetoric? Yes.
Yes, quite the Liberal plot... This treaty was approved by the Foreign Relations Committee with bipartisan support. It has been endorsed by prominent former officials from both parties, including former Secretaries of State George Shultz, James Baker, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright, and Warren Christopher, former Defense Secretaries James Schlesinger, William Cohen, William Perry, Frank Carlucci, and Harold Brown, and former National Security Advisors Brent Scowcroft, Stephen Hadley, and Sandy Berger. Liberal traitors huh? Some of you folks need to emerge from your bubble and see the world as it is instead of how its explained to you here at TH, or at Fox, or listening to Rush. Pure propoganda. Filtered...
I'm a liberal. I'm not trying to stop Christians from enjoying the holiday. I truly hope that you enjoy yourselves, remain safe, and that you can honor your spiritual traditions as you see fit. I look around me and see little to no evidence that Christians are being prevented or harrassed for worshipping as you see fit, in spite of the commentaries here, and elsewhere in conservative news reports. Liberals can be Christians too, so to suggest that conservatives somehow have the inside track to Christianity, and that Liberals do not, does not strike me as being very Christian in tone. It seems the opposite. I realize not all conservatives have that un-Christian view. Nevertheless, this is the time of year for peace and goodwill. ...
You've got to be kidding. You think it's newsworthy that a Fox poll comes out against Obama? You guys need to climb out of your Fox, Townhall, WorldNet bubble once in a while.
