GOP Turns Sure Victory into Defeat

I think Michael Reagan and other conservative pundits are missing a big point. I don't think Romney lost so much as Republican voters failed to do their job. Look at the numbers. Only 70% of all registered voters voted in Ohio. Given that the vote was roughly split 50/50, that means 1.2 million registered Ohio Republicans didn't vote. Now the Democrats had 3 times as many ground stations set up as the Republicans. They went door to door, arranged rides for Dems to vote early. All legal. They didn't focus on converting Republicans. While 1.2 million Ohio Republicans sat home, and are now complaining about how the vote went down. We should learn from the Democrats, not criticize them.
We need more anti Islamic cartoons and movies. They need to get used to the fact that most people in the world have freedom of speech, and editorial challenge of their belief system that advocates violence against non-Muslims is valid communication. Like get used to it. If we roll over to their violence, they control us. In countries where this cannot be controlled, we should just quit trading with them, pull our embassies. Not silence our free speech.

Todd Akin vs. Elizabeth Warren

Oh, so we can borrow more and more forever, and there are no consequences? You are the one who doesn't understand economics. This road has been traveled by many countries, and the ultimate consequence has always been rapid expanding inflation followed by collapse of the country's economy, new government, and a long struggle back, with personal losses of wealth for everyone.

Akin's views on the options of a raped woman are what did him in. A man or a government telling a raped woman that she must bare the child of a rapist should be repugnant to any human who does not believe in oppressing the female gender. Yet that policy was effectively what was on the Republican platform, against abortion, with no exceptions mentioned. I think this is what lost the last presidential election. Republicans should simply take abortion off the platform since the true conservative position is small government and we don't need government agents in every hospital, checking out miscarriages, to see if manslaughter charges should be filed. Abortion should neither be supported or prevented by an interfering govt.
