Well I got a pretty good idea on why Santorum is trailing among men. Any man who thinks that sex is for procreation purposes only- even for married couples- isn't going to be too popular with the fellas.

It's not just that. Women - and GOP women - are leaving in droves because of an accumulation of things - Rush Limbaugh and his "s luts" and "feminazi's" - I can't remember his ever saying a fond word about women - and the conservative support for his misogyny. Boards on conservatives sites like this bash women all the time, half the men who do it don't even seem to realize they are doing it. People pass this stuff around to their women (and male) friends who vote.

Conservative state legislatures that pass laws to force invasive tests on women who want their right to a legal medical procedure, laws that tell Drs. they cannot give information to pregnant women who may have a sick child - all of this has painted the conservative Republican party as anti-woman, and underlined it's desire to make all personal choices for women. More nanny government.

President Obama's re-election prospects have improved over the last week, according to a string of new polls.  The most recent swing-state survey from USA Today/Gallup fortifies last week's national CNN numbers showing the president building a statistically significant lead among women:

In the fifth Swing States survey taken since last fall, Obama leads Republican front-runner Mitt Romney 51%-42% among registered voters just a month after the president had trailed him by two percentage points. The biggest change came among women under 50. In mid-February, just under half of those voters supported Obama. Now...
