How the NRA Stole Christmas

We have to stat somewhere so lets ask WHY do we need a NRA? It isn't just about guns.... The liberal have been successful in banning smoking.... I won't go on with the list.... Notice that we don't have a national organization to protect smoker rights. When the government starts taking away individual rights conservatives seem to pick and choose what is OK with them. Do a little soul searching and ask yourself IF you complained when smoking was attacked.... Make a list of what rights were taken that was OK with you. There in lies the core problem of the conservative agenda. Ron

I can own, carry, and use a gun and not harm anyone.
Smokers harm people near them, they cause fires, they litter horribly.
Their habit is filthy,it inescapably contaminates everything around a smoker.
there's no good that comes from smoking,OTOH,guns have good uses, such as self-defense.

Lastly, there's a Second Amendment protecting the right to keep and bear arms.
No such protection exists for smoking.

smoking is allowed because of liberty, but most of all it is a large source of tax revenue for our beloved politicians.

You are correct. The second amendment is there for a reason. If you count up the fatalities caused by guns in history (excluding wars), you will find that the overwhelming majority of those were people killed by their own government. Think Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao, Mussolini etc. It appears to me that the most dangerous group as far as guns are concerned is government.

Trust Obama? Me neither.

smokers have no liberty to pollute the air I breathe. smoking is a privilege, not any right.
if it's determined to be destructive to other people, you don't get to do it. Smoking in places open to the public IS destructive to others. even the healthcare costs for smokers is a lot higher, and their higher premiums do not cover all of that,so it costs other people.

A day late and a dollar short best describes the National Rifle Association’s inept response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. As the nation’s most powerful defender of the second amendment (the right to bear arms), the NRA displayed cowardly silence for more than a week following the shooting. Then four days before Christmas, the NRA held ghoulish 30-minute press conference America would have been better off never witnessing.

Contrary to the banners held up by protesters at the event that read “ the NRA kills children,” it doesn’t but the NRA does do VERY bad public relations....
