The Decline of the West (Cont'd)

Paul, in your list of the terrible things the Russian government is doing to the Russian people I was finding I could create the same kind of list here..... I think a reporter's phone was tapped.... I think NSA is doing all the things to American citizens that we never believed would or could ever happen. Another branch of our government sent troops, including snipers, to take a family's cattle in Nevada. Senator Reid said all these people and their supporters were terrorist. Through omission you have created a "bad guy - good guy" story. Russian writers and politicians do this also. Obama does this same thing every time he gets in front of a camera. This little country, that was cobbled together, has not been able to pull itself together since its formation. You seem to forget/ignore what events happened and the corruption of the government as well as the president that was turned out of office... In 1984 there was THE ENEMY.... Its seems that we must always have an enemy to point attention towards. People in north Colorado don't seem to feel they are part of the rest of Colorado. People in Catalonia don't feel Spain's government treats them fairly and they want to leave. I won't go on and on with this. The simple point is people should have a choice no matter where or who they are. You are part of an elite group of writers. Your group has the power to shape things. For good or bad you guys are at it every day. Try and be a little more responsible and know the picture is always a little bigger than how you frame it.

The Recovery is Dead

John, the only way you could think the recovery is dead is that you believed the government reports that there was a recovery.... You are not the only writer who believed there was a recovery. Most writer are not business people along with all of our elected... So how could you know anything about this other than what you read from the government and their supporters? Banks making money is not a sign of a recovery. The new jobs being reported are not a sign of a recovery...A different kind of example: There are as many people coming of age to be in the work force each month as there are jobs being reported. This young group are not being counted, along with the folks dropping out of the work force. This disaster is not being noticed each and every month. Along with this you have 80+million people supporting 140+ million people.... These reports out of various government are confusion you. There isn't a recovery now, not last year, nor the year before.

I am not sure BUT it seems like Ann has begun to take the same positions as the GOP elite..... It appears to me that most of these old - good - old - boys have over the years have been party to expanding and expanding governments over everything. IF reelected do we really think they will not continue? This is not a one issue election. Nor should it be.... Her assumption may well be right. Give in on any and everything but win the senate...Once they do what will they do... Will it help with the 2016 elections? Example - Thad Cochran - has been an elected politician longer than anyone reading this comment can remember. AND I am sure he will be reelected in Mississippi again. Look at his record....One of the greatest 'pork' senators in the history of the senate. You really can't beat a really good 'porking' senator in any state regardless of party. Ann's belief seems to be we cannot not win the senate with new candidates beating old sitting senators. AND we can't have third party candidates because they split the conservative vote. (That seem right.) Now what? Just keep voting party lines... Rome is burning.... These older republicans what more government just like the Dems... Government power is their power....Their primary goal is to get reelected....
If the primary goal of the elected is to maintain their power then can there be clarity or morality? Many in the November elections have been in office so long they have been the major players in the expansion in State and Federal government. (MS Senator Cochran has been in office longer than Ben has been living. Is and has been one of the top pork barrels in Washington.) His sense of moral clarity is to get reelected and folks in the MS-GOP will see that he will be elected. It appears to most of the people in my age group that I know believe there isn't trace of morality left in our politically elite.... This shame falls of us.
Something is missing from this story.. Did they GOV not get the man's cattle off the land? Did they not take the cattle? That the stated goal? (PS: I can only hope Harry Reid WAS involved is this.)

Haven't We Struggled and Suffered Enough?

Docnick Wrote: Apr 11, 2014 8:03 AM
My response to the last comment is NO WE HAVEN'T suffered enough. There are to many who haven't suffered enough. AND certainly not enough to realized what has happen to others and the economy. Most importantly it isn't CLEAR to most who has created these massive problems. Until they do November elections are still up for grabs.
I wonder IF the writer has any ideas what percentage of the population has some level of mental disorder? To think that that any significant percentage of this group be identified is simply not possible. To identify, treat, and somehow track even a small percentage of this group is not doable. As the population grows so does the number of mentally ill. Just the last thought - most killings are not done by persons identified as mentally ill. We have federal government officers threatening a cattle farmer with reported federal snipers drawing down on the family on a road side.... Over population, over government regulation threaten us all - all the time. It is happening here and countries around the world.

Jeb v. Hillary?

Docnick Wrote: Apr 06, 2014 8:28 AM
What is the question? Of course the politically elite will run their own. Congressman come and go but senators mostly are in for or until they want to leave. Both parties see to this.... So Hilary or Jeb (or someone in the group) will run. There will be the 'challenger(s) ' of course. That's what keep the game going.....That's the smoke that hides the real game.
The other reason I want Obama out of office is he is just to simple or complex for the conservative writer to get.To understand...To figure out.... Obama is about telling stories. The same stories.... Stories that make people hopeful... His stories haven't come true at any point in time and they won't... Why do you think that matters? It hasn't mattered to his block of voters in the past.... Conservatives don't have a good story like his stories.... Worse (maybe) they have few members who can tell a good story IF they had one. If we had a guy with a good story would our liberal press pass it on to the voters? Obama has been consistence about changing America.... Now on the receiving end like they way he has changed America for them. Even many on the paying end also. What they missed in all of this story telling is what has made this nation strong in the world's view and a place of opportunity for most.... That is what has/will change. He is changing this nation at its very core. These next two years will not be lost or his goal slowed. All representative forms of government in history have failed by morphing into a vote buying socialist government. A good GOP story might be..?
