June 1933 – Union Station massacre: In Kansas City, Missouri, Pretty Boy Floyd kills an FBI agent, 3 local police, and the person they intended to rescue, captured bank robber Frank Nash. November 1933 – New Deal: U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt unveils the Civil Works Administration, an organization designed to create jobs for more than 4 million of the unemployed. – Dust Bowl: In South Dakota, a very strong dust storm strips topsoil from desiccated farmlands (one of a series of disastrous dust storms that year). Since then, there have been 15 Farm Bills which have, in one way or another, addressed these issues. Unfortunately, a number of the original programs, which were designed to ensure that there was healthy food for all and fai
passes the United States Senate, submitting the proposed 21st Amendment to the Constitution to the states for ratification. The amendment is ratified on December 5, ending prohibition in the United States. March 1933 The Great Depression: President Franklin D. Roosevelt declares a "Bank holiday", closing all United States banks and freezing all financial transactions (the 'holiday' ends on March 13). Great Depression: The U.S. Congress begins its first 100 days of enacting New Deal legislation. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rises from 53.84 to 62.10. The day's gain of 15.34%, achieved during the depths of the Great Depression. April 1933 – The United States officially goes off the gold standard.
The first Farm Bill, the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933 (each one has a name), was created to address rock bottom prices (corn prices actually hit $0), national hunger, soil erosion, lack of credit and unfair export practices. At this time in history 1933 there was a great need for a farm bill, but for the past 60 years there was never a need for such a bill and I submit today there is no need what so ever. Unions got special status as nonprofit. When you consider how many assets each union has and how much money they spend on getting their candidate elected I do not see how they can be considered nonprofit. To me any organization that has over $100,000 in assets should not be considered nonprofit. This nonprofit status should be changed. Short List of Union Members and Assets 2010. I cannot find 2011 yet. Union: Service Employees International Union Assets: $187 million Union: National Education Association Assets: $216 million Union: United Food & Commercial Workers Assets: $157 million Union: International Brotherhood of Teamsters Assets: $175 million Union: American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees Assets: $97 million U

First President to give $500 million to an electric car company which created hundreds of jobs in Finland. First President to give tens of millions of dollars to build traffic lights in China. The skunk has replaced the Eagle as the new symbol for the President. It is half black, half white, and everything it does stinks. Apparently, Democrats think I’m supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack Obama does with mine.
