Two thirds of the Pakistani people view Americans as their enemy. Kind of contradicts the proposition that we have no quarrel with the people of various muslim countries, and our quarrel is only with their government (you hear this one multiple times a day regarding Iran).

As long as the people in muslim countries view Americans as their enemy, I view muslim countries as my enemy. It goes two ways. As long as the predominant general population of a nation views me as their enemy, can I afford to be so foolish as to be anything but guarded of them? Why would I want my government to fund my enemy with my own taxes?

ISLAMABAD - I picked an interesting moment to visit Pakistan: four terrorist attacks in less than a week. The first was at the World Food Programme office here in the capital; 5 killed. The second was in the Khyber Bazaar in Peshawar; more than 50 killed. The third was at the military's General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where Taliban insurgents, armed with automatic weapons, grenades and rocket launchers, fought for 22 hours. According to government spokesmen, a brigadier, a colonel and three commandos were killed. More than two dozen hostages were taken, but most reportedly were saved when a would-be suicide...
