Guy Benson Wrote: Paul Ryan is a socially conservative Catholic. = Thanks Guy, I didn't know that and I appreciate the feedback. In that case, I love this pick :-) I love that Ryan has such a direct philosophical link to Reagan. Kemp and Laffer were two of the primary architects of supply-side and two of Reagan's closest advisors on fiscal policy, and Ryan was mentored by Kemp. If he's also a social conservative as you indicated, and I certainly do take your word for it, then this pick is a home-run!

"Paul Ryan is a socially conservative Catholic."

That won't buy him anything with the NEEDED Independents and some cross-over Dems that we need to win.

"I love this pick"

What pick?

Romney has not announced his pick.
He will do that tomorrow at 9:00 AM EST.

This clown is a lying phony - NOT a conservative at all. He's on TH to lie, obscure, and create head fakes and confusion.

I disagree. The VP pick is supposed to help you win the election. If you can show me how Ryan helps Romney with Independents and disaffected Democrats I'm all ears. This is a popular choice with the base. But he's already got them. ABO remember?

Blue-collar, Midwestern Catholic. Serious about spending control and debt. Recent Democratic poll showed support for Ryan budget at 51-35 in swing districts. Ryan's also an excellent salesman for his ideas & is likeable.

As popular as Jack Kemp was? Kemp was an NFL quarterback and even that didn't help Bob Dole. You guys need Florida. You really think this helps in Florida?

Blue collar? His dad was a lawyer. He's never held a blue collar job unless you consider driving the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile in college blue collar.

Strangely enough, I think I like the idea. The one thing Ryan brings, no matter what, is the idea that at least someone who understands the economic side is involved. As for Mitt's Base, I am not so sure he can count on them. There is no sense of enthusium. As for no excutive experience, That is a loss, but he has been in washington long enough to at least know where the bathroom is. Ryan could fire up the tea party folks, which would be a game changer. Next I would leak that West will be sec of defense, to give the military experince in the cabinet. Rubio might work as sec of state. LAst, find a way to get Palin excited, and then sit back, let Palin, rush, hannity and the PACs run interferrance. It could work.
