Do You Support “Anyone But Obama”?

The very conservative element of the Republican Party may think it is righteous to back candidates based solely upon principal. Unfortunately their candidates will not get elected because the 6% in the middle elect the president, not those on the far right of the far left. Christians and ultra conservatives can break from the ranks, and become marginalized and basically not participate in government. I am in Delaware and saw that happen. Mike Castle wasn’t my ideal candidate but the Witch couldn’t win and now we have two far left Senators, thank you devoted right wingers.
John, your right, Romney is not as conservative as the Republican base would like and yes Newt is more aligned. As recently as last month I donated to Newt’s campaign, but it is time to wake up and smell the coffee. It is not as simplistic as who is the most conservative candidate; it is who can beat Obama. Unfortunately, Newt is just the wrong conservative to carry the banner. The 10% of the people in this Nation who call themselves independents decide who will be President. They want someone to unite the Country after 12 years of bitter partisan politics. Is Romney the best bet – man it’s hard to say yes but I think so. Just heard Newt’s Florida speech and loved it, I love Newt’s but I dislike Obama more!

$174,000 is outlandish, get real. College professors who teach one three hour course, two semesters a year makes this amount of money. A good Mary Kay cosmetic sales consultant will make more than $174,000. It is not their salaries that are a problem in congress; it is their term in office. Four terms for a house member and two for a senator should be max.

There are some disagreements that can never be resolved, but homosexuality this is not one of them, in the end we will all be judged and enlightened

Homophobia is a word that is usually applied incorrectly – “the irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.” Many people, such as me, believe homosexuality separates you from God and are not afraid of, nor do we discriminate against homosexuals, just as we do not fear dunkers or adulterers. We are all given free choice to live our lives as we see fit. I have committed adultery and do not claim to be any more righteous than practicing homosexuals. The difference is I believed it was wrong. As far as the actions of others are concerned, it is not for me to judge. What I resent is having a false belief fostered upon me as something that is normal and acceptable, it is not.

The posts today have been very entertaining, especially Shadow_Man who has worn his figures to the bone denying the reality of civilization from the dawn of time. It is instructive to count how many times the works "taken out of context" are use, even when the entire contextual material is presented. If the whole band is marching, and has be marching for centuries and you are out of step, just as our friends in Rome were out of step as their civilization slid into the toilet, perhaps it isn’t context!

If homosexuality was not a deviant behavior and it was ordained by God wouldn’t men fit anatomically with men and likewise women with women or did God just miss that step?

The percentages of homosexuals are from the census bureau, I think you are confused because studies have documented that the preponderance of homosexuals have hundreds of relationships and it just appears like it is 15%

No valid scientific studies have supported the theory that homosexuality is biological. When the national board of psychologist first announced that homosexuality was not a psychological disorder it was later discovered that the majority of that board was gay. There is more evidence that alcoholism is an inherited disorder but it does not make it any less of a sin. Perhaps we can determine that sex outside of marriage is a disorder and therefore adultery will no longer be a sin – what fun!
