It sounds as though Mr. Connor never heard of the coffee-burned idiot who sued McDonalds. It sounds as though Mr. Connor never sat on a jury of idiots. Government, insurance companies and personal injury attorneys are pauperizing physicians, having inserted themselves between the doctor-patient relationship so revered in years past. The current public mentality is 'oh, yes! let's get the rich doctors', thus awarding extravagant, unjustified sums of money to unjust plaintiffs. My immediate family includes an M.D. and a J.D., neither of whom agree with Mr. Connor.

Do not be deceived by the red pill/blue bill analogy. Not all generics and brand names are equal. I know first-hand of one generic that does not remedy the ailment for which I have tried it, on two different occasions. The brand name works. The ingredients may be the same but the packaging (ie, the red stuff or the blue stuff) may be different to the extent that it may not even be absorbed by the body.

And don't think for a minute you can keep your current plan if you like it. My private insurer cancelled its great drug coverage for over-65s as soon as it had to compete with government's subsidized Medicare Part D.
