In response to:

Liberals Panic As They Lose the Gun Narrative

I cannot believe all the MISINFORMATION the Democrats are putting out! They DON'T KNOW the parts of a gun---can't even call them by their proper names; haven't done ANY RESEARCH on gun shows to know THEY ALL do background checks; they DON'T KNOW the difference between fully-automatic and semi-automatic, nor the difference between rifles and handguns! That's HOW they rile up their base---through scare tactics and MISINFORMATION!!!

I have Swiss Cheese in my refrigerator less porous than gun show regulation.

How many mass shootings have there been at a gun show?
ericynot Wrote: Dec 26, 2012 9:03 PM
cow,

How many weapons purchased at gun shows have been used in the commission of a crime?

Jay,

As usual, you are mistaken.

That's mozzarella. The regulation is in regards to commercial sellers of firearms, who must posess a Federal Firearms License. If you buy from a FFL, you fill out form 4473 and go through NICS whether at a gun show or gun store. Period. End of story. Private citizens can sell firearms amongst one another, whether at a gun show or meeting up at the seller's home. It's no more a "gun show loophole" than a "gun seller's home loophole". Commercial sellers of cars need to incorporate as a dealership, but not so for private, individual sellers. It's the same thing. If you sold a car at a car show, it doesn't create a "car show loophole". It's whether it's your business or merely a private transaction.

"How many weapons purchased at gun shows have been used in the commission of a crime?"

I've not seen that statistic, but it's probably very few, fewer than 1%.

The stats I've been able to find on short notice suggest that in 2006, there were roughly 380,000 crimes committed with firearms, 77% of which were handguns. The stats on gun ownership are old, but they suggest that there were around 192,000,000 firearms owned in the US in 1994, and that number has risen since.

So roughly .2% of firearms owned in the US get used in a crime.

Based on USDOJ Background Check & Firearm Transfer report 2008 & DOJ Firearms use by Offenders Nov 2001 only .64% of felons attempt to buy from a gun show today, and then the BATF only prosecutes less than 1% of those 1.83 mil felons & crazies rejected since 1994, of course since 95% of felons dont even attempt to buy from a licensed source, maybe you can tell everyone.

After all, you have a copy of all the legislation that shows all state & federal gun control laws ar void by participating in a gun show right, so lets see it liar!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that you also need to complain to the BATF for their refusing to allow anyone but a ffl dealer access to the NICS, hence civilians dont have access to check for private sales.

not misinformation,it's DISinformation.

they deliberately intend to confuse and mislead people.
that is how the bogus term "assault weapon" arose.

Now the latest term is weapons of war",despite NONE of these semi-auto guns have been used in any war. they are literally civilian versions of military weapons.
When you argue for a living, you can tell how an argument is going for you. The evidence and my gut both tell me that the liberals have lost control of the gun control narrative.

Not for lack of trying – it was almost as if they were poised to leap into action across the political, media and cultural spectrum the second the next semi-human creep shot up another “gun free zone.” This was their big opening to shift the debate and now it’s closing. They’ve lost, and they are going nuts.

The evidence is all around that...
