Are there really any "good" Democrats???

Common Core Math is Ridiculous

Yep, schools are doing this BECAUSE they REFUSE to allow students to MEMORIZE! However, a student MUST "memorize" Math RULES, in order to work specific kinds of math problems IN THE FUTURE! It's the same way with Science---a student HAS to "memorize" how many miles the earth is from the sun, in order to KNOW how far the earth is from the sun, at a later date (i.e. for a test)!!! MOST of the other teachers I've spoken to have said, upon being questioned HOW to teach a child math concepts, "HOWEVER you can get them to UNDERSTAND, so that they can show their work and come up with the correct answer." I CHOOSE TO FOLLOW THEIR ADVICE!!!

I tutored a 1st grader last summer; her teacher said the little girl had NO CONCEPT OF NUMBERS, and her class was already adding and subtracting basic numbers. I saw the little girl twice a week. After the FIRST week, the teacher sent me a note with the little girl, stating she COULDN'T BELIEVE THE PROGRESS I was able to make with her---in only one week! Actually, I taught her the "old way" of adding and subtracting using "short little marks," representing the numbers (adding), and taking numbers away (erasing "marks") while subtracting. Young students CANNOT handle "a multi-process mathematical problem," and that is exactly what Common Core math does! While teaching this little girl HOW to make the "marks," I also used "white northern beans" (manipulatives) to accomplish the same thing. There is NO NEED to teach grade school students such complex math concepts---it's totally UNNECESSARY!
The greatest thing Sen. Ted Cruz did for the American people, was to shine a light on those GOP members who are "traitors to their own party! I cannot tell you how important this has been, in lieu of the upcoming 2014 elections! Everyone I talk to says THIS did more to help the Conservative and Republican cause, than anything else, because they NOW KNOW who those "traitors" are----and have even made a list of those names! THANK YOU, Sen. Cruz!!!
Could THIS be the Missing $67 Million from the Obamacare Slush Fund? Thursday, August 15, 2013 WASHINGTON — After several months of delays, the Obama administration awarded $67 million on Thursday to fund an army of outreach and enrollment workers known as "navigators," who will help people sign up for coverage on the new state health insurance marketplaces beginning Oct.1. http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/08/15/199498/hhs-delivers-67-million-to-pay.html#.UkXKtYZwqSo
The really SAD thing here in Colorado is that many people DO NOT understand that once you "see" the single coverage, you then have to Xs it by however many members are in your family! I've already had to explain this to several residents in my community! They saw that "single coverage" premium, and thought they could insure their entire family for that amount! Even after "subsidies," they're still going to be payimg MORE than what they could get a "private policy" for!
Obama ALREADY pushed our country over the "fiscal cliff," back in 2009---when HE began his INSANE policies!!!
HOWEVER. . . . . . . .with 65% of our U.S. military (soldiers) ANTI-OBAMA, I wouldn't count on those soldiers turning their backs on their own families, and their fellow Americans!
Once people realize they can get a "private policy" FOR LESS, for their families, I think it will be the reverse! I think more people are going to be running back to "private healthcare policies," because the premium IS BETTER, the deductible IS BETTER, and the coverage IS BETTER! The ONLY people that will benefit under Obamacare are the "truly poor" and the "generational welfare crowd." After "subsidies," those two crowds will pay approximately $69.00 per month for healthcare---but their coverage will be severely LACKING!
I would NEVER sign-up for Obamacare! My private healthcare policy is much cheaper, the "deductible" is much lower, and my coverage is MUCH BETTER! I would be a FOOL to give it up (and I am retired). My son and his wife have 5 children. They also have a "private" healthcare policy, and pay $385.00 per month, with a deductible of $2500. per year for the whole family. There's NO WAY he's going to give that up! They make $113.00 per month TOO MUCH to get a "subsidy" on Obamacare. They, too, would be FOOLS to give that up! (Under Obamacare, he would be thrown into the $6,700. per year "deductible" bracket.)
That's $348.00 per month Xs the number of members in your family! And if you and your wife happen to make more than the $50,000.00 per year---say they make $60,000. per year---your "subsidy" IS GOING TO BE A LOT SMALLER! Since the threshold for a "decent" subsidy is $50,000. per year income!
