Pat Buchanan paints a bleak picture of our future. Boehner and company say the House is powerless against a Democrat Senate and President. What a bunch of wusses! They have power the White House dreads: investigative subpoena power. Boehner can tell the Dems that Republicans refuse to waste any more time trying to negotiate with an party that will not come to the table in good faith, that is deceptive and has no intention of giving an inch. (Remind anyone of Israel and the Palestinians?) Rather than waste any more time on budget issues, the House will begin an in-depth investigation of Obama's eligibility, as a favor to the country to get this cleared up once and for all. Then immediately convene the committee and start issuing...

The world dithers and soon Israel will have no choice but to make a pre-emptive strike against Iran. There is enough doubt that the hardened nuclear facilities can be penetrated to cause understandable hesitation. Perhaps the only effective option is to decapitate the government by a strike on Teheran when all the major heads of state are present. Then, while the elements of surprise and lack of command structure have paralysed the government of Iran, turn their attention to the nuclear facilities and render them inoperable. I'm not saying this would be a good thing, but an Israel backed into a corner may see this as the only way to survive.
