It looks as if the Arab Spring is becoming the American Autumn.

There are very few Americans who heartily buy into the crystal purity of any political dogma. be it liberal, progressive, conservative or socialist. Few people fit neatly into the stereotyped mold made for them by party leaders. One of the major tenets of conservative philosphy is that idealism takes second-seat to pragmatism in policy-making. Let's hope that our future leaders will make decisions based more on common sense that on some blind adherence to ideological purity.
It sounds like a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. What better argument for shrinking the size and scope of the federal government that this incident? I could see going over an entire flow chart of all the federal departments, agencies, sub-agencies, sub-departments and offices and eliminating a great many of them.

This is the same tried-and-true stock storyline as Rambo or Walking Tall or any number of similar films about someone whose family is threatened or killed, so the hero/heroine goes after the bad guys and kills them all. This one just has a different take: an angry born-again Christian mows down the bad guys. The producers are targeting a different demographic with this new version and hope to reap greater profits as a result.
Alexander the Great would disagree with you.
