I think you guys are underestimateing Obama and the hold he has on his party and followers. He's given them a lot of what they were asking for in 2008. That should be ackwnowledged. Whether or not he campaigned on it, he gave them the Health Care thing, DOMA, DADT, tax cut extensions, green energy investment and other left-nut causes. when you make those kinds of giveaways to certain parts of your base, you make loyal followers out of poeple who might not have followed you without them.

Yeah, the "comedy" that is Famliy Guy. I can't believe Fox still employs guys like MacFarlane when they have such a repuation for conservative values. I guess he makes them a lot of money and that's what talks in that town.

It was necessary in the past for the got to support PBS, beacuse we used to need this kind of unfilitered educational outlet. But Michelle is dead-on when she says that PBS has merchandised it's way into the marketplace since then. The govt doesn't need to subsidize such a successful corporation. Capitlaism is all about surviving in a marketplace by making a product people want to buy. PBS has that all over it, judging by its high elite membership and corporate sponsorship numbers. I also agree with Michelle that federal govt subsidies to companies that clearly don't need them in order to compete in a vibrant marketplace are a complete waste of taxpayer money and should be cut.
