Is it possible that the left's big plan is too dumb the general population down enough that they are incapable of governing themselves?

Of course. The answer to a lot of higher level problems, in education, would be to institute state competentcy examsacross all grades at the same time. Yes, you might have ahigher than normal group of Kinders for a couple of years (you could also institute an entrance exam and take care of that problem), but in all other classes there would be an equal amount moving up as there would be moving in. That would require the parents and students see that learning the materials is mandatory. Then make ed. classes more rigourous. I attended a private school, known in my state as the highest rep. in ed. But where I must live, the schools are more willing to hire from a private school, in the area, where students transfer in, who were unable

to make the grades in the local public college. I can't get a job, except in a parochial school where I was laid off in favor of uncertified people in a program through a Catholic college whereby they earned their ed. degree, by getting a Masters in ed. This program is full of people who are BA's from the soft programs (communication, etc.) The ones at my school were the majority not interested in truly learning how to be good teachers. The reason I was laid off was there were parent complaints that I expected too much out of my students. The Principal had been one of those public teachers who didn't expect anything out of his students.

Everything is just one big liberal conspiracy to you isn't it?

I have not decided whether liberals are evil or feckless. I am leaning toward the former, because that large a group of people cannot be wrong all the time by accident. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Just a lot of little liberal conspiracies. Liberals generally aren't smart enough to make a big conspiracy.

The truth must be told, even if it hurts. We have no time for knee jerking. If you are a good teacher it should not be an offense to you. However, if it is offensive is because you are a bad one, a liberal or defending the problem. If you are all three, resign and do the children a favor.

Hitler would be giving standing ovation.
American education is in a sorry state of affairs, and there's enough blame for all participants to have their fair share. They include students who are hostile and alien to the education process, uninterested parents, teachers and administrators who either are incompetent or have been beaten down by the system, and politicians who've become handmaidens for teachers unions. There's another education issue that's neither flattering nor comfortable to confront and talk about. That's the low academic preparation of many teachers. That's an issue that must be confronted and dealt with if we're to improve the quality of education. Let's look at...
