In response to:

Sandy Hook Shooting Demands More Than Knee-Jerk Anti-Gun Response

When such tragedies as the shooting occur and all the actions to "prevent" them are based on emotional responses and knee jerk reactions they will continue to happen. It doesn't matter what method the person uses, guns, gasoline, fertilizer, they will continue to do so till the underlying cause is reversed. That is the ignoring of persons with mental problems like this guy had. Every one of the cases the people around him were ignored when they asked for help. Clear back to the guy who shot up the McDonalds in San Diego, the guy's wife was asking for help and trying to get the police to do something before he did something bad. Why do they wait? Bleeding heart liberals have made it impossible to act before something dreadful happens.

Fact: there will always be mentally ill people, not all mentally ill people are violent and so there is no way to predict who is capable of these types of acts. What is known is that assault-type weapons in the hands of mentally ill violent people will always result is mass murder. The common sense solution is to ban/regulate/reduce the availability of these types of weapons. Any other solution that doesn’t include this is white noise.

Bleeding heart liberals blame the object used to commit the atrocities instead of the person or the system. Bleeding heart liberals make sure that no one is in a position to defend themselves by declaring "gun free zones". I want anyone who wants "gun free zones" to put signs in front of their homes declaring them to be "gun free zones". Meanwhile I'll put a sign in front of my home declaring "I don't dial 911". Lets see whose house gets robbed first. Bank tellers should be armed. Teachers should be armed. Anyone in a position where they are in charge of the safety of others should be armed. If the teachers in that school had been armed he would have picked a different school or perhaps never have done it at all.

It is for certain that our schools should have armed guards in them! These people who commit these atrocities are cowards of the highest kind! They wouldn't have the guts to go there if they knew that they might be shot at! This is not going to go away just because assault weapons are banned! Tell me, LIBERALS? Why didn't this kind of crime happen 30 years ago? Guns have been around a lot longer that the past twenty or so years, assault weapons included! Your Nambi-pambi, every one's a victim society is to blame for this garbage too! There's more here than the gun issue, but, of course, that part will not ever be addressed!

Hey, tough guy, what do you use to heal the scrapes on your knuckles?

One week ago, a lone lunatic took the lives of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Sadly -- yet, predictably -- before the crime scene was even secured by police, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg took to his bully pulpit to issue another in his endless demands for more stringent gun control.

There is no question the Sandy Hook shooting is a tragedy of horrible dimensions. Nor is there any question the incident is another red flag that something is not right with the culture of our nation. Half of the...
