We have restrictions on automobiles --- licenses, inspections, traffic lights, even parking. They don't prevent accidents entirely, but what's such a big deal about putting restrictions on automatic weapons which are even more deadly?

Semi-auto is one trigger pull one shot. What is your problem with that. All guns do that. Some of the "assault" weapons mean that they only look like a military weapon. They still work, one pull of the trigger, one shot. Just like every other gun. The Constitution says at the end of the 2nd amendment "shall not be infringed". Seems black and white to me. But I am only a high school graduate.

Have you ever been caught in a riot? You should look at news footage of the Watts riot or learn a little about the Liberty City riot in south florida where white people were dragged from their cars and murdered or were burned alive in their cars. The media of course ignored this for the most part and looked for ways to put a positive spin on it.

Uh dick4260, there are restrictions on automatic weapons. There have been since the mid-thirties. The National Firearms Act passed by the 72nd Congress, June 26, 1934. Not that I agree such restrictions, including those on automobiles, licenses, , traffic lights, parking, barbers, manicurist, etc.

Must every tragic mass shooting bring out the shrill ignorance of "gun control" advocates?

The key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available.

If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive.

Places and times with the strongest gun control laws have...
