V.A.T. good idea, and most conservatives support it because it falls mostly on lower income people, the poor, the elderly, minorities etc.

It's only Republicans, from Hoover toi Bush, who collapse the stock market

People NEED assistance. Like Mitt Romney with his offshore tax cheating and his weird tax brackets
Calm down, Johnny, with all this "lies and scams" stuff. This is about science. Grow up.
You are right, if you'll pardon the expression, "on target". We'll eventually have common sense. Laws like those which license both the deadly implement (car or gun) and the owner or driver. But the NRA is going to have to murder a lot more schoolchildren before we have such laws.
Best thing Koop did for American health was making nicotine gum & patches available without prescription. Koop also favored gun control

It's nice to see Erick Erickson daring to appear on Town Hall. His own blog, Red State, censors opinions and users it doesn't agree with.

The main reason for America’s vanishing support of raw capitalism is the disappearance of jobs with decent pay so workers won't need the government’s help. Doug McMillon of Walmart and Jeff Stratton of McDonald's keep almost half of their workers below the poverty line, forcing them to rely on food stamps and poverty programs that the rest of us taxpayers are paying for. When people protesting low wages appeared at a recent speech by Stratton on "work and life, faith and gratitude" he tried to have them arrested. In Ohio recently, people took up a collection so that Wal-mart employees could have Thanksgiving food on the table. McDonald’s recently advised its employees to sell their possessions to make-up for holiday spending debt. The fast food chain’s hotline encouraged employees to apply for food stamps. McMillon made $9,316,441 in total compensation last year. Stratton’s immediate predecessor received $27,741,408 (Source: salary.com) Newt Gingrich recently commented on the Pope’s criticism of America’s trickle down economics. Gingrich said, “I think every Republican should embrace the Pope’s core critique that you do not want to live on a planet with billionaires and people who do not have any food. I think the Pope may, in fact, be starting a conversation at the exact moment the Republican Party itself needs to have that conversation.”
Omigod Schauss! How terrifying! What have you started? Next thing you know, liberals will start picking on some freshman at Bob Jones College
