Because if you had during the time of the 2008 elections, you would know that most RC bishops all but said "don't vote for Obama", which of course they can't by law. This was entirely due to his stance on abortion. Nothing about illegal immigration, death penalty or wars abroad - was considered to be as serious an issue as this.
