Answer this question and you have the answer to just about everything. Has any government anywhere ever really fixed anything? Meaning, the solution or the beginning of any solution is to get government out of just about everything.

dhellew5, I share your disdain for most government opetations. However, I do remember WWII, when we marshalled 11M men and women to defeat the Axis powers, admittedly with the help of Russia, Great Britain, and other allies. Otherwise, we would all still be struggling, learning how to read and write in Japanese or German, if we were still alive.

In the same vein, General Groves, Dr. Oppenheimer, and others created the awesome weapon which ended WWII, thanks to the courageous decision taken by President Truman. Arguably, use of the A-Bomb saved 1M or more lives, as compared with launching an attack on Japan's home-land, since Japan's mentality was to defend to the death, as at Okinawa.

Obama has destroyed the political center in this country, and for that we can be thankful. 

Because Obama’s policies have exposed the basic problem with the bipartisan approach favored by establishment Republicans and so-called Blue Dog Democrats.
