First and foremost guns don't kill people, people kill people, intentional or otherwise, be it guns, knives, cars, clubs, arrows, etc. That said, gun control has never succeeded in preventing criminals from getting guns or making their own guns. The only difference is when non-criminals are armed and can protect themselves criminals look for easier safer targets, just like they avoid dogs. Government regulations are much like telling a lie. First one lie then another lie to cover up the first lie then it takes two lies to cover up the first two lies, then the lies spread like wildfire and pretty soon no one remembers the first lie. The best way to regulate is by teaching moral standards, the very cultural quality government seeks to destroy
