By attacking the 2nd Amendment, Democrats are losing millions of voters. Perhaps, Democrats think they can offset the loss with votes from illegals, homosexuals, and dead people.

You may be on to something, here, D G. Think about the illegals from Mexico. They come from a culture where guns are not something the lower classes are allowed to have. The people with the guns are the criminal cartels, who are the bad guys. The government also has guns but they are seen as corrupt. So these new illegals will be perfectly comfortable with the democrats proposed model where only the government is allowed to keep guns. The illegals believe that our government is not corrupt like the Mexican government, do our government having guns while the people don't will be looked at as a good thing. Democrats don't do things by accident. They plan and scheme for their long term goals. If they have to go one step at a time, they will.

As Congress prepares to consider new gun control legislation, I stand firmly against any attempt to restrict the constitutional rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners. As a concealed weapons permit holder, I value the freedom to exercise my Second Amendment right as protected by the Constitution and in accordance with gun laws designed to promote safe, responsible use.
