I agree that there is waste in EVERY federal program, but let's start with the Executive Branch and hack those salaries and benefits by 20%', then move on to Congress and cut that budget by 2o%, then the Judiciary Branch and cut that by 20%. That makes so much more sense than hacking defense, The other thing we need to remember is that this NOT a cut, it is a decrease in the proposed budget for next year. They will actually have ,ore money to spend in the new budget (if we get one), than they did in last years.

President Obama's sequester -- he designed it, he demanded it, and it is about to kick in -- will have many consequences, some bad, some very helpful.

On the negative side, Stars & Stripes reports that Department of Defense officials are exploring how to collapse the school week to four days at some schools on military bases that serve the children of our troops.
