The ONLY reason that "rising healthcare costs" were even considered to be a "national crisis" is the fact that the Federal Government has taken it upon itself to pay for the healthcare of many Americans. Rather than let the marketplace itself correct the "crisis", the Federal Government decided that it needed to take control of the entire sector. Let's be honest here, rather than perpetuating the lies that our master is benevolent.

Absolutely correct, jafo. But because academics is the liberal training ground, can you imagine if President Obama deigned to call higher education costs "a national crisis" and stepped in to "control the costs"?

The same reason that 1 year of a University, ROOM and BOARD was 3000 dollars in 1973 and now it is 40 thousand dollars!!! THE GOVERNMENT destroyed the system with tax payer loans and subsidies but why should "WE" even try to explain the obvious to a bunch of of sheep who think "FREE" is the way to go!!!
