I don't understand Jonah's criticism of "A crisis is terrible thing to waste" other than it came from the Obama camp (though it did not originate with them). This whole article is a song to the fact that crisis clouds have silver linings. Wisconsin would not have happened if the Wisconsin economy had been rolling along and the public sector union can would have just been kicked down the road. Walker took advantage of a crisis to fix a serious problem. Just because Obama (or Emmanuel) says something doesn't make it wrong.

Just plain excellent analysis and writing.
I'm surprised that Ann doesn't mention the judicial activism under FDR when the court allowed the Federal government to regulate what farmers could grow. Obama is right frot the standpoint of precedent. The supreme court completely ignored the constitution with that ruling. So the current court has two sources of conservatism...the constitution and precedent. Which will they follow?
