Argueing that the tool is the cause of a problem is a fallacy and a deversionary tactic used by those of whose ethics are questionable at best. Tools are inanimate objects they are NOT imbued with intent. Left to their own devices they can do and accomplish nothing. Hammers, scissors, guns until a "person"picks them up and gives them intent and direction these objects will perform no tasks. Even the scariest looking of weapons fully charged and in condition one will remain a non threat until a person intervenes providing impetus and from that point forward assuming ALL liability of their actions. Cars are a perfect example, cars are involved in the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans every year, but no one is calling for their ban.

It’s not much of an exaggeration to say that John Lott has changed the national debate on gun control. His rigorous research and prolific pen have exposed the slip-shod analysis of anti-Constitution advocates.

I’ve cited his work on several occasions.
