I had a Bureau of Labor Statistics clerk here yesterday. Seems that somehow he found out that I pay my son $20 to mow my lawn while everyone else in the neighborhood mows their own. He told me that I was a primary creator of Green Jobs. The clerk told me that I was eligible to receive a new $360,000 solar-powered lawn mower which, after federal subsidies, would only cost me $5. He also told me I could apply for a $1,500 subsidy on the $20 I pay my son. It sounded like a good deal until his friend got out of the car and identified himself as an SEIU union recruiter and told my son he had to pay $175 a week dues including a $50 PAC contribution.

I think we've gone over this quite enough.”

Ryan didn’t finish his question. Vice President Biden wasn’t pressed into an uncomfortable answer that would have wiped the smile off his face.

Had Ryan not been interrupted and...
