Every time you want to say that Bloomberg was one of New York's greatest mayors, = crime is way down, the NYC unemployment is low, NYC finances are good, he is trying to get the schools and teacher unions straightened out, things seem clean and orderly unlike Detroit, Chicago, and other big cities .... he does something stupid. Banning 16 ounce soft drinke and coffee, mandating bike lanes in New York's busiest streets, banning trans-fats, You would think that after they have fished several 60 -year-old women bikers out of the wheel wells of buses and dump trucks he would catch on, but no. Unfortunately, these are the things that will come to mind when we all remember Bloomie. His wacky streak.

WASHINGTON -- Apparently New York City's Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg whiles away his last hours in the mayor's palace daydreaming. He has been mayor for almost three terms and though his mayorship may not have been as heroic or even as effective as that of Mayor Rudy Giuliani, it has at least kept the city up to Mayor Giuliani's standards of cleanliness, law and order, and an approximation of sense of financial rectitude. So if Bloomberg is no Rudy Giuliani, at least he has done OK up until now.

Now his daydreams are taking on the air of delusion. He apparently...
