I agree. I wrote a long piece just as we invaded that the mission was foolhardy. What was shocking was how most of the GOP followed Bush off a cliff - as they did on so many domestic issues - even thought they had (rightly) criticized Clinton for nation building in the Balkans. When will Americans get it right? Use the military to defend real national interests, but ONLY then.
