I voted last November and all I got was this crummy Congress.

I told the Tea-Partier George Bush was a socialist and his urging of "re-capitalizing" was a clever Socialist ruse. The Tea-Partier clamored, "How?" I said, "Republicans are clever, they use code, they use the word 'recapitalize' to fool people because it sounds like capitalism. In fact, George Bush is a Socialist, he wants to redistribute wealth from the bottom upwards." Just ask yourself where did that capital to bail out the banks come from? Where does the capital for farm subsidies come from?

I met a Tea Partier the other day and asked him, "didn't we socialize the American financial system while George Bush was president?" He answered with an emphatic, "NOT POSSIBLE!" I said, "Don't you remember when Hank Paulson said he needed $700 billion, 'quick and clean,' with no strings attached to spend as he saw fit?" I told him, "The first time Congress voted on the $700 billion bailout it failed and the DOW sank 800 points the next hour." The Tea-Partier thought that was funny. George Bush made a speech from the Oval Office later that week saying "We need $700 billion to recapitalize the American financial industry."
I said, "You mean, the American farmer should continue to get paid by the American taxpayer to mow his own lawn and plant trees on his own land?" "Yes", he said "and most Republicans in America's heartland, basically, feel the same way." I have come to the conclusion that these Republicans are collectivist statists, whose fundamental philosophy is 'Big government for me, little government for you." .....but they will never, ever tell you that.

A Republican friend of mine from Kentucky joined the Tea Party Express. Several years ago when George W. Bush was president he was worried that the USA and the European Union would drastically reduce farm subsidies so that Third World countries might have the opportunity to export their agricultural products here. He said at the time, "It's true that billions of dollars of farm subsidies each year gives American farmers an unfair competitive advantage over farmers from impoverished nations. However, if farm subsidies are cut, the farm states should still get their due in the form of money for conservation."

Once again, has no one ever told you that George W. Bush was President from January, 2001 through January, 2009? Has no one ever told you that the Speaker of the House was a Republican from January, 1995 through January, 2007? Has no one ever told you that Senate Majority Leaders were Republicans from January, 1995 through January, 2007? Have you ever heard of Trent Lott(R) or Bill Frist(R)?

Republicans say, "It's about Obozo!" Such logic was never used during the George W. Bush eight year 'Reign of Error.' Such logic was never used during the 12 year period when the Speaker of the House was a Republican from January, 1995 through January, 2007 when goob-mint just got bigger and bigger and bigger. One suspects that those teat suckers just want to get back on the teat of the government sow, themselves. Many here have a slobbering love-affair with the Republican Party. The Republican Party set in a set of policies that have bankrupted my beloved country and, if I dare say, slobberers, eschew giving any responsibility of the recent economic downturn in America to the inept and corrupt Republican Party.
Republicans remind me of the Solomon Judgement - Republicans remind me of the woman who was standing before King Solomon in a custody suit with another woman [I Kings 3:16-28]. She would have rather seen the baby cut in two than see the real mother have it. In the same way Republicans would rather see the economy tank, thousands of people out of work and our communities destroyed as long as they can get the White House back. Care pointed out to Solomon who the real mother was and care and concern for our fellow citizens and the environment tell us who the real citizens are.
Imagine an old Haitian woman a day after the earthquake in January, 2010. She lost everything she had in the earthquake except a loaf of bread. She shares that loaf of bread with a family that has lost everything. Bill Gates donates a million dollars to a Haitian relief organization. Who gives more; the old woman or Bill Gates? What parable of Jesus would apply in this situation?
