Afghanistan has no government, Pakistan funds the Taliban to protect the Sunnis and Iran protects the Shia population funding whichever agrees to help. We funded the Taliban until Russia left, and they later found that smuggling and drugs provided the missing cash they needed to conquer the Country, a long established tradition among war-lords. Pakistan needs instability in Afghanistan for several reasons, but parts of that Government need terrorists for their perpetual war with India and Iran, to some extent. The problem is that they can't control the terrorists who can be influenced to attack America. ...

McCain has always thought the "Maverick" image was glamorous, and with him, it is his inner driving force, not rationality. He first warned me of his pathology when he opposed the MIA/KIA movement in the '70's, and I have since witnessed his dedication to his psychological need to be in the spotlight, no matter what it took.
I know Hayworth is not pure, but which one of them is, particularly after they learn the game? He does not represent what I consider "American". It's all about him.

I could never read more than half of any of his columns, feeling something was beneath his words that I didn't like, so if one defection to the arrogant Left has to occur occasionally, I am glad it isn't someone I respect.
